Periodic reminder that local news matters. RFT was one of the only publications still reporting on Darren Seals' murder, and found that the FBI had generated over 900 pages surveilling him.

RIP RFT it truly does sadden me that a publication that was so supportive and important for St. Louis music won't be around any more. We're still very honored to have been featured a couple years back. Shit sucks :'(

I’d like to thank all the amazing staff of the RFT for elevating so many important regional stories over the years. From Ghost bikes, helmet mockery, victim support, to helping people understand the size of the problem, the cycling and pedestrian world of STL lost a huge advocate

Really sad to see RFT fold up. The depth of reporting the RFT has engaged in is so very valuable and has added so very much to our collective understanding. This thoughtful perspective will be sorely missed.

When the #rft newspaper helped cover my toy shop moving because the landlord raised the rent during the pandemic and again after I was hospitalized for over 2 months! I will miss you RFT.
