The Trussell Trust distributed a record 3.1 MILLION food parcels over the past year.

I met with them to discuss how we can end the need for food banks.

The foodbank charity The Trussell Trust says it’s handed out a record 3.1 million emergency food parcels in the past year.

More than a million were given to children but there’s been a significant rise in the number of older people needing help.

No one should have to turn to a food bank just to survive.

📈 Yet, food banks in our network provided over 3.1 MILLION emergency food parcels last year.

And Foyle Network Foundation (Foyle Foodbank), West Lothian Foodbank, Newcastlestaffs Foodbank and Birmingham Central Foodbank shared how many food parcels they provided. ⤵️

“It’s heartbreaking,” Helen adds. “Our #foodbanks are now saying: ‘We really are on our knees and we’re at breaking point.’ What I find scary is there is real potential for it to get worse in the coming year.”

It’s 2024. It’s not right that people are having to turn to food banks just to survive.
