Sometimes I wonder if academics could benefit from having agents. It would allow for the redistribution of people, better deals. The agency would operate the same way caddies get paid, not retainer. Could be mutually beneficial to the school, too.

C. Michael McGuirk Chemjobber I considered starting the agency. It would be extremely interesting. In the best embodiment it could make a positive impact in lots of areas, including ensuring market-rated equity, universal metrics for success, and incentives to do a good job.

It’d really be interesting.
