Deniz anası renkli ışıklar çıkararak ufak canlıların ve planktonların dikkatini çekip onlarla besleniyor!
Peki nereden biliyor bu ışıkların dikkat çektiğini!

Tür: Tarak denizanası Ctenophores aliesine mensup

Lampocteis cruentiventer is the only species in the ctenophores family of the same name.
These are large, jelly-like, brightly colored marine animals. They live at depths from 200 to 900 m.

The Venus Girdle ctenophore has two distinct swimming modes. The normal slow cruise using many fine iridescent cilia like normal ctenophores, and an eel-like undulating fast mode when it thinks it's threatened.

I think these videos show why I call Beroid ctenophores 'flying mouths.' Comb jellies in the genus Beroe often swallow their prey whole like a predatory ziplock bag.

Absolutely mesmerizing Beroe ctenophores at Monterey Bay Aquarium! The new deep sea exhibit features several creatures that you don't usually (if ever) see in aquaria, and it's really a fantastic trip into an alien world

📍 Comb jellies, or ctenophores, are graceful, translucent marine animals with rows of cilia for movement. They use colloblasts to catch prey and come in various shapes and colors, contributing to marine ecosystems 🪼🌊

Posting this beautiful photo of a Cambrian jellyfish from Utah we described in 2007. Today a paper was published re-interpreting this one and other previously described jellyfish fossils as ctenophores.
