Dr Jan Rosenow Laurent Segalen Nesta The Telegraph 20% dissatisfied or harmed minority will be always more important than 80% content.
That's what protecting minority rights is always about.
Especially important now that there seems to be push to enforce heat pumps on those who don't want them or don't need them.

Climate myths Rico Woj BetaTalk - Renewable Heating Podcast Madeleine Gabriel Nesta 'Incomes were skewed towards the wealthy (only 30% in the bottom three income quintiles) but all this means is that heat pumps need to be made accesible to all.' Or perhaps not pushed upon the poor who don't want them?

Dr Jan Rosenow Point taken. I am glad that you accept that the cost of heat pumps is an issue. Are you willing to concede that for some people they are not affordable and heat pumps are not fit for all solution, seeing as 20% of of their owners are unsatisfied with them?

Dr Jan Rosenow Laurent Segalen Nesta The Telegraph I also suspect that policies aiming at enforcing heat pumps on the unwilling will eventually backfire as the cost is staggering. It will probably end up in more support for parties opposing green policies or movement.

Dr Jan Rosenow Chris Dawson Coolproducts.eu Based on your advocacy of heat pumps, I would find it odd that 20% aren't. So are there are any flaws of heat pumps you are ready to admit or will ignore this rather significant number of people dissatisfied?

Dr Jan Rosenow Sorry but this sounds like a very ideological take, arguing for artificially making any other choice than heat pump unaffordable (as far as I understand). It won't change the fact that people without money will either become dependent on government or banks to fulfil green demands

Rico Woj BetaTalk - Renewable Heating Podcast Madeleine Gabriel Nesta And even these people have around 20% rate of dissatisfaction.
One could imagine the rate would be much higher among these less wealthy and not interested in environmental ideology.

Dr Jan Rosenow Steven Shepherd Nesta How much is the average cost of re-fitting a home to use heat pump? Any figures ?
The study is also kind of biased since for now those with heat pumps are those who could afforded them. If they become forced many more dissatisfied owners will be reported I am sure.

Dr Jan Rosenow Laurent Segalen Nesta The Telegraph The main point of democracy is that it safeguards the rights of any minority. And 20% is a substantial minority. Seeing the push for heat pumps(going as far as some trying to make them mandatory)we need to protect those who do not want heat pumps.
