During this afternoon session, I was reminded how many police officers, staff and police families we have in Bedfordshire. The connection is instant and the admiration, mutual.

I am one of the strongest and vocal supporters of our police. If re-elected, this will not change. 💙

I'm informed that the Electoral Commission has passed on a complaint about the Labour PCC candidate in Bedfordshire to Bedfordshire Police to investigate.

Accountability, taking responsibility, and following election law, applies to everyone. Simples 🤷🏽‍♂️

Quick stop this morning at the Wixams Retirement Village. I was pleased to hear of the improved visibility of community officers who drop in to meet residents to reassure and give advice as needed.

I started a pan Bedfordshire debating competition for YP 14-18yrs old when first elected. A first in Bedfordshire and PCCs nationwide. It brings young people together, improves self confidence and ability to communicate. Supporting our young people is not just about more police.

Festus AKINBUSOYE PCC Mark Shelford Avon and Somerset PCC Mark does rock the background tree hair extensions though!
