This afternoon, people took part in a mass 'Swim for the Sea' at Gwithian beach to protest against plans by Planetary Technologies and South West Water to carry out a carbon sequestration trial by dropping tonnes of magnesium hydroxide in St Ives Bay. cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-…

Gwithian is a candidate area of great landscape value. Moss Rock's plot is within this AGLF.
It can be considered together with para 23 of the CLP.

Many of you are amazed that despite containing some of the richest habitats and species, the Gwithian area lacks SSSI protection. It is a glaring gap in the SSSI designated area from Lelant to St Agnes. It has left us vulnerable to developers forever

South West Water commissioned a long fall sewage discharge pipe at Gwithian Towans, early 90s, which everyone objected to. The Gov overruled local objections and the scheme was implemented, and it failed as predicated.
