Just here to say that I know it's not one or the other exclusively. Only like 2,5-3% of people have aphantasia/hyperphantasia. It's a spectrum, too, you know, the 'how well can you imagine an apple' meme thing? Don't feel bad that you can't 'tag yourself' as one or the other!

Today I learned I have hyperphantasia, where my mental imagery is so vivid as to be the same as seeing the real thing! I took the test and scored a 157 of a possible 160 with 150+ being hyperphantasia. This explains why me dreams are soooooooo vivid 😅

I have hyperphantasia and I can visualize the apple in my hand, take a bite, throw it against the wall and know what sound it will make, smell it, see it in different colors, press the brown spots on it, dice it up, turn it over in front of a light source...etc, in my mind's eye.

So yesterday I discovered I have synesthesia. Also possibly hyperphantasia. Never really understood that manipulating perfect recreations of scenes and objects in multiple dimensions in my head was unusual. Some things are starting to come together.
