Can someone please explain like I am 5 years old: when hypoxia is beginning, why can’t the f****ing plane automatically DESCEND and somehow open a vent or port, de pressurize, and get O2 into the small jet plane?! Someone explain, why isn’t this a thing??

The jet was up at cruise altitude (34,000ft) when it became unresponsive.

There was likely a loss of pressurization and the pilots became hypoxic due to lack of oxygen. The plane flew on autopilot until it ran out of fuel and crashed.

J3rmain3 Rob ✝️🇺🇸 They were likely already dead from hypoxia. That’s why it wasn’t shot down and was allowed to crash. They didn’t voluntarily fly over dc. So his statement to the families is normal and makes sense.

It appears that N611VG was last following the flight plan SIE T320 SARDI V91 CCC KISP at FL340 when it failed to descend and overflew the destination (KISP, Long Island McArthu Airport) and continued to fly on a constant heading. All the signs of hypoxia.

The Redheaded libertarian They did not shoot it down. This was probably a slow depressurization event like what happened to Payne Stewart. Hypoxia set in and everyone went to sleep, the autopilot flew until the airplane ran out of fuel.
