Sergeant Yonatan Din Hayim was born. He made Aliyah, and enlisted. He fell in battle in the Gaza Strip. 'When he went up to Israel, I knew he would stay there forever,' his brother eulogized him at the funeral ceremony in the US.

Last night, over 600 members of the MaccabiUSA delegation marched in the Opening Ceremony of the Pan American Maccabi Games.

Even after the attacks in Israel on 10/7, 95% of the US team made the trip to Buenos Aires. I spoke with some who said they never considered backing out.

Rose Lubin, a 20-year-old from Atlanta, came to Israel alone two years ago. She enlisted in the IDF, served as a combat soldier, and on October 7, she went out armed to the entrance gate of Kibbutz Sa'ad. She was killed a month later in a terrorist attack in east Jerusalem.

Their homes were destroyed. Their friends were murdered. They were almost killed. But now they are in Buenos Aires for the Pan Am Maccabi Games.

Two survivors of the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks spoke to MaccabiUSA on Saturday. Their stories are ones of horror, but also hope.
