Today, we took the final step in moving forward the proposal for a *truly* independent redistricting commission, which will now be voted on by the people of Los Angeles in the upcoming November election.

For anyone wondering why Florida voters gave 62% to redistricting reform in 2010, its because the Congressional Districts looked like this #flapol

NEW: Black plaintiffs in the original Louisiana congressional redistricting case have asked the district court in Baton Rouge to reopen the case (case had been dismissed in light of the state's adoption of a new map w/ two Black districts, but that map has now been invalidated.)
