Everyday they are saving lives.
I hadn't even realised the extent of the damage to begin with. It wasn't until the dust cloud cleared that I realised the life-changing injuries I had sustained from kneeling on that IED 😲

April 5th 1982: The first British ships, HMS Invincible & Hermes leave for Ascension Island, as others sail from Gibraltar. Elements of 40 & 42 Commando #RoyalMarines and 3 Commando Brigade HQ are already aboard... The Empire was striking back.
On this day in 1982: the Falkland Islands were invaded by Argentina.
Today, we remember the bravery and actions of the Royal Marines Naval Party 8901 and Members of the Falkland Islands Defence Force who fought to defend our Islands against overwhelming odds. 🇫🇰🇬🇧
