ShopKind Week of Action is from the 6th-11th May. It aims to unite the retail sector to tackle violence and abuse against shopworkers by asking people to ShopKind when in stores. ShopKind is backed by the Home Office.

Nobody should be afraid to work or to shop on their local high street. Yet soaring levels of retail crime have seen shopworkers face awful levels of violence and abuse at work.

That’s why I’m supporting The Co-Operative Party’s campaign to #EndRetailCrime

Violent attacks against shopworkers have more than doubled in the last year according to figures shared exclusively with GMB by the union Usdaw.

The annual report found 46% of workers were threatened by a customer in the last year.
