🚨 It’s Respect for Shopworkers Week! 🛒 Just had a constructive discussion with GMP Police and GM Deputy Mayor Kate Green 💙 on the crucial role of police support in combating retail crime. It’s clear that cooperation is key to ensuring safety and respect in our retail spaces.

Delighted to welcome Alex Davies-Jones MP to Gloucester as part of the launch of Labour's plan to #EndRetailCrime - we spoke to shoppers and shopworkers about the massive impact shoplifting and abuse of shopworkers is having on our high streets. Enough is enough 🌹
Nobody should be afraid to work or to shop on their local high street. Yet soaring levels of retail crime have seen shopworkers face awful levels of violence and abuse at work.
That’s why I’m supporting The Co-Operative Party’s campaign to #EndRetailCrime
Violent attacks against shopworkers have more than doubled in the last year according to figures shared exclusively with GMB by the union Usdaw.
The annual report found 46% of workers were threatened by a customer in the last year.
