Damn, I knew Skylab's situation was bad after launch...but man, it was BAD. Especially since they initially believed they had permanently lost both main solar wings.

Fun fact: the final change to Skylab was made just before it launched, when Martin Marietta engineers realized they had forgotten something, and affixed a metal United States flag to the docking adapter.

The crew of Skylab 2 get their first look at the station post-launch. On the left side we can see the remaining wires from the solar panel that tore off entirely, and on the right we can see the other solar panel, jammed and unable to deploy.

Got a couple hundred words done today despite my hands vibrating from the noise upstairs. Skylab is safely in a near-perfect circular orbit, though its current state is far from perfect. The first crew is preparing to remedy this.

Haven't really been able to work on the Skylab script this weekend because it has been nonstop unbearable noise from upstairs. Told the housemate I can't handle it and I may have to move. I've just been playing video games at full volume with noise canceling headphones.
