Started watching Worzel Gummidge. Haven't seen any of it in over 40 years & I'm so glad I waited til it was restored on blu ray. As very young boy I followed Charlotte Coleman's career onto Marmalade Atkins then when both grown up, I saw her in Four Weddings and a Funeral. RIP

On This Day in 1979: The first episode of Worzel Gummidge was broadcast on ITV.

It starred Jon Pertwee as Worzel and initially ran until 1981.
However there was a spin off Worzel Gummidge Down Under
which ran from 1987 to 1989.
