Is it really more difficult to create accessible pavements, cycle lanes, crossings and safe streets than it is to build motorways?
We don't think so.
We need political will, prioritisation and funding to ensure all #Disabled people have #Accessible #ActiveTravel options.

I see #Disabled parking bays.

I see EV charging bays.

What I don’t see are any Disabled EV charging bays. Not one.

None in more recent consultation drawings I’ve seen, either.

Come on Derby City Council, we need #Accessible EV charging please!

Surface types, route directness, obstructions, missing drop kerbs… the designers here have made it very clear they value drivers more than people walking/wheeling and cycling.

So, thought I’d give the “vouchers not PIP” thing a whirl.
Just attempted to use 2 gift vouchers to buy period pants online - essential purchase for an anxious autistic teen (who gets DLA).
Got 1 voucher to work, after an age. Paid the balance with actual money.

Trying to find photos of specific bikes we had, being ridden. No luck.

I do, however, have loads of photos of the relevant kids wearing the correct cycle helmets for time they rode the bikes concerned, sitting eating cake.

I mean, guess I got the priorities right?!

Thought I'd changed in the last 15 years... but found an old external hard drive & with this response to an active travel consultation from 2010. Off the cuff, while childminding 40+ hour weeks & with 2 toddlers.
