Justin Amash doesn't know what socialism is. Capitalist companies seek to maximize profit and control of the market as much as they are legally allowed, and often break the law to do even more abusive behavior than is allowed. Government's job is to ensure fair competition.

This seems like a really bad idea, and like Musk hasn't spoken to anyone familiar with social media ranking algorithms and potential concerns about gaming and rewarding bad behavior.

Why people say stuff like this? It's not true that if extremists on all sides hate you, that it means you're being fair and moderate. It could just be that people broadly agree that you suck, because you do. And your inability to see this possibility might contribute to that.

I think one under-examined topic is the extent to which society's most prominent right-wing figures are either literally stupid, or are psychopaths who do not care at all about the accuracy of the things they say.
