Despite more than 80% support for unionization, Forbes management told us this evening that they won’t voluntarily recognize our unit, and instead will force us to have an election.

It’s officially been 24 hours since the #ForbesUnion went public and we are overwhelmed by the kind words of encouragement and solidarity ✊

This year, for Lent, I am giving up.

Yellen on Congress passing a 'big' COVID-19 relief package: 'In the long run, I believe the benefits will far outweigh the costs, especially if we care about helping people who have been struggling for a very long time.'

Yellen on inequality, per transcript of opening remarks:

'People worry about a K-shaped recovery but well before COVID-19 infected a single American, we were living in a K-shaped economy, one where wealth built on wealth while working families fell further and further behind.'

Yellen says most important thing we can do to get on a path of fiscal sustainability is defeat the pandemic.

“To avoid doing what we need to do now to address the pandemic .. would likely leave us in a worse place fiscally and with respect to our debt situation.”

Biden's big economic speech mentions:

-Big stimulus ($3 trillion)
-Electric vehicles + 550,000 new charging stations
-Modernizing infrastructure
-1.5 million new affordable housing units
-paid sick leave, paid family leave
-$15 minimum wage
-He's a 'union guy'

The chart says it all.

The US economy has recovered just over 60% of its covid losses. It's now about the size it was in Q1 2018.

Bottom line: US is recovering, but still a long way to go.
