@ticks7

Trying to catch the complexity of ticks-hosts-pathogens systems. Loving bird watching and Single Malts (not necessarily in this order). Fluent in sarcasm.

I wonder how the human brain knows he/she is “80% full”. I apply this concept to all the haematophagous arthropods…and I still wonders. By the way, it is called “Pareto law”.

Lo confirmo y lo apoyo. Todavía existen vendedores de crecepelo que solamente quieren jugar con la esperanza de las personas enfermas y utilizan la ciencia “adaptada” a sus intereses.

The hypothesis of the New Laptop (NL)
“The amount of time working with your NL is directly proportional to the coolness of your NL; however, the productivity is inversely proportional”

Honestly, the hardest work of an editor is to reject a very-very-very poor paper, explaining point by point, politely, why I can’t improve the manuscript and why I must to reject, without being offensive.

Verás, es muy curioso que tus fotografías *exactas* aparezcan solamente en tus hilos, y en ningún otro lugar (según Google Images). Mira, me voy a abrir una botella de vino, que ya me has aburrido con tontadas.

Watching these fine illustrations (ca. 100 years old, by Dönitz) I think I have been walking on the backs of giants. By the way, why only a few ticks evolved tufts of dorsal setae?
Interestingly they were first described as Hyalomma…

Rhipicephalus hibericus is the neglected southwestern European lineage of the sanguineus gr., commonly reported as sanguineus s.l. It is NOT R. turanicus as reported for years. Re-check your collections. Why not an updated map of its distribution? sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Interesting to note that Fever, French Pox, Measles, etc. are not “falling sick”. More interesting that being “lunatique” was a cause of death…(let alone “worms”).

This is something that moves me. Some species of ticks (here and there, many sites) like tortoises. In many parts of the world, like a relict of ancient associations.

By the way, that behind you is the fynbos? I did only see it in Cape Town…

If you feed AI an MRI, it will happily write a detailed and very convincing diagnosis...

even if the patient is a dead salmon.

The papers should have also a lot of unreadable charts, plenty of colours and small types, preferably made on R or Python.
Also, it is necessary that the supplementary material is unreachable or the final link is broken. A must!

This window looks like Windows 10-11…what are you trying to transmit with “1994” and so? I do not think your original dialog can be represented in a modern version of Windows (they are so crappy that they cannot catch old content). Juts use MODERN partition systems…

Ian M. Banks: the “Culture saga”
Alastair Reynolds: everything in the saga “Space revelation”
Dan Simmons: the four parts of Hyperion, the four parts of Ilion.
Final advice: never read SciFi written by Chinese authors. Boring.
