Scottish farmer co-operation, collaboration, innovation, & supply chain policies can help address this.
A clear supply chain priority must be added to the Bill. This will require the right policies to be made to support a resilient & sustainable future for Scottish farming.

Farmers get a v. small share of the value they help create - most is realised elsewhere in the supply chain. With public finances under pressure, it makes sense for farmers to reduce their reliance on government income support by getting a fairer return from the market.

This Bill sets the priorities for Scottish agriculture. They give an 'intervention logic' for the policy detail - the schemes - that follow.
We think *agricultural value from the supply chain* has to be added as a priority.
