An evening stroll in Newbiggin past the Rocket House & looking out to The Couple Statue by Sean Henry which stands 12.5m high on a 200m long breakwater.
Rockets were sometimes fired to help haul stranded/run aground boats in hence Rocket Houses.

The little Northumberland town we're staying in has it's library in the community hub that also has a cafe/sports facilities/a meeting room. A model that more councils may need to pursue perhaps where it's possible given resource constraints?

This year's Mental Health Awareness Week is about Movement. One thing I love to do is explore Shetland's beaches, and when brave enough, go for a dip in the North Sea! This really helps me to be present and enjoy nature, which is very grounding. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek2024

When the sons were bairns rather than the strapping you men they now are we used to take them here often. A gem of spot. Showed them adders & cuckoos out on the moors nearby.

The former opencast coal mine is now a nature reserve & I'm seeing a Spoonbill wading about on it.

I probably won't be able to make this gig in #Durham but I would if I could. Haven't seen Maiwa but Toria is ace & catch Elizabeth Grace Harvey before she leaves Durham Uni & heads back home to Liverpool.

ALL workers should be able to afford necessities like meals, housing, and medical care. Musicians are workers, but are consistently expected to exist outside of capitalism. Artists are told that we should be willing to work for poverty-wage payouts because we love what we do.

It has an award winning rowing club & used to have a great big power station that reminded me a bit of Dungeness.

St Mary's is the former parish church in Woodhorn, Northumberland, near Newbiggin by the Sea. The church is one of the oldest in Northumberland and incorporates Saxon, Norman and Gothic-style architecture. Grade I listed on the National Heritage List.
