Short term goal: do research projects that are fun and that *I* find interesting

Long term goal: convince others that what I find interesting is interesting

This is a perfect illustration because JK Rowling is supported by Voldemort and Lucius Malfoy while being opposed by Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

A really nice paper from Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte showing little support for a cordon sanitaire in Spain.

Would be cool to see this study replicated in contexts where the far-right is more ostracized (e.g. Germany) and where the far-right is even more mainstreamed (e.g. Switzerland).

A week left to apply for funding for the ECPR Methods School.

If you like RCTs/field experiments, I'll be running an applied course that might be of interest

Do we systematically prefer educated political candidates? Or do educational groups select in ways that reward their own?

A just accepted note at Journal of Politics @[email protected] by Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte and I suggests the answers are yes, and yes – but only for the graduate group.
