With the new Gimme update done, I thought it was time to revisit my weirdest specimen: the one for Magical Unicorn Neue Pro. Once again, we are redrawing illustrations, this time to create a few full-spread visuals.

Perhaps 2023 is THE year for the re-release?

Researching for Sugarshop is a lot of fun. One of the largest grocers from the Netherlands has a great archive, and you keep running into designs of your youth! Look at these chocolate sprinkles!

Sometimes you enforce a concept which leads to bad results, and you have to let go. (I misinterpreted the rules, so actually the design was wrong from the start!).

Mibster goes into a nice direction (original at the bottom). Still some clutter with small marbles, but hey, you need them! The top version contrast is bold, but the second has more vibrancy. So many doubts around...

I've been revisiting Gimme the last few weeks and have to accept defeat with every family: Why does adding an outline makes it all so much better! I'm still standing by my non-outline approach in Sugarshop though... 😅

I prefer Chrome ever since it's variable color fonts rendering was fixed, but testing the upcoming Gimme release in Safari gave me quite a shock!
