This tweet is from the US, but we have seen for ourselves the same story on our own shores.

The world is sick of greedy, profiteering billionaires.

Multi-millionaires are so detached from reality, they don’t even realise: passing on costs to consumers means less money to buy their products.

Working Australians are heading into a holiday season plagued by a cost-of-living crisis, and attitudes like this exacerbate it.

As we wrap up another year, let's shine a spotlight on the real MVPs – the workers who power the economy and make the season bright! Let's remember and appreciate the workers this festive season.

Engineered stone will be completely banned by 1 July 2024. Thank you to the thousands of dedicated unionists who made this ruling possible – prioritising workers’ lives over corporate profits.

The ban on engineered stone is a direct result of workers and their unions. However, the war on silicosis is not over and we cannot be complacent!

We did it!
Federal, state and territory WHS Ministers just voted to ban engineered stone from 1 July 2024.
This has happened because our union turned out. We set a date to ban it on our sites, rallied, and campaigned to the public outside big retail stores.

Today lives were saved.

No one should die for a fashion product.

Well done to the CFMEU and everyone who fought to put workers lives ahead of corporate profits.

ICYM last weeks big news: Part of the Closing Loopholes Bill got a thumbs up, which means better worker rights. Translation? Improved wages to help out during the cost-of-living crunch. Just in time for the holidays! 🎁

'We have one of the most segregated school systems in the OECD, not by the colour of your skin, by the size of your parents' pay packet.' Jason Clare MP

Australia’s education system needs to be better and fairer and that starts with fully funding public schools.

It’s a simple change based on common sense. Starting in the New Year, employers must pay their labour hire workers the same pay for the same job – no more using labour hire loopholes to undercut pay and conditions.
