Yet again, the government has let down hundreds of thousands of workers, as the NHS pay rise is now overdue.

At this crucial time for NHS staff, UNISON's conference of health members starts on Monday, and I'll be heading down to Brighton to speak to them.

Your NHS pay rise was due on 1 April. So now there are 2 questions for directly-employed NHS staff in England:

❓What would you be willing to do if the govt makes a pay award that falls short?
❓What if delays drag on?

The government’s let your pay date slip by without giving you any idea of when it’ll make a decision.

❌ No urgency while your cost of living keeps rising
❌ No urgency while the lowest paid are earning just a penny above minimum wage
❌ No urgency while staff are questioning

From today, NHS Pay Band 2 is just 1p above the minimum wage.

This is an outrage!

We call on the Government to speed up talks on the NHS Pay Deal for 2024/25 to correct this gross disparity. #PutNHSPayRight
