Frustratingly, there’s a kernel of truth to this TRA flex: at least in the US, original women’s rights legal fights focused on strict equality (same treatment) b/w the sexes, not on circumstances when females need & deserve separate/different treatment to preserve true equality.

The problem w/ “gender identity” in law isn’t that GI isn’t defined; it’s that GI isn’t a stand-alone characteristic — it’s inextricably oppositional to sex. If humans weren’t sexed, GI couldn’t be conceptualized. The fiction of GI requires the fact of sex to even be described.

The new Title IX rule didn't exactly replace sex with gender identity. The nuance matters. It means a different administration can come in and prosecute SEX discrimination.

3/ In our response we set out a comprehensive list of policy proposals and we analyse the findings of the Cass report. We broadly welcome this report, but we can see no circumstances in which a live trial of puberty blockers can ever be ethical. Gay youth are not test subjects.

The ACLU just lost another appeal re: pediatric gender medicine. The justices focused on procedural issues. None, on either side, engaged with the ACLU's argument that kids would self-harm if they lost. It's a dark day for emotional blackmailers.
