The lesson of literally almost every single successful social movement in modern US history (women’s suffrage, civil rights, LGBTQ, Act-UP, antiwar, disability rights, etc) is that dissent *must* produce disorder to provoke the kind of response that enables meaningful change.

should we be concerned that the professors who are taking on the greatest risk of being beaten and arrested seem to be mostly historians

Watching how fast congress is moving on passing laws that violate our constitutional rights, while they do absolutely nothing to make sure you have guaranteed housing, food, bridges that don’t collapse, and libraries should radicalize you if you weren’t there already.

It should be much bigger news that Dartmouth’s Chair of Jewish Studies has been banned from campus for trying to defend her students.

Many of these protesters are Jewish.

Many of these faculty members are Jewish.

Calling these protesters antisemitic is putting them in danger.

we spent years upon years watching republicans talk about how free speech is being taken away due to wokeness but politicians are just voting our first amendment away right in front of us. hypocrisy shaming doesn’t do anything, but no one should take anything they say seriously

we are supposed to believe that the young people working to end mass slaughter are the threat and that the riot squads sent in to brutalize them are the peacekeepers

A woman on CNN is saying the anti-Vietnam protests were different from the situation now, which is “very polarizing.”

People always do this — make it seem like past activists were somehow uncontroversial.

It’s nonsense. Activism by its nature is antagonistic to the status quo.

There have now been many well documented examples of Zionists showing up to racist, bigoted, and violent. And we won’t see a single headline reflecting that.
