This book by Vera Mironova offers an outstanding insight to understand the internal dynamics of post-Soviet with plenty of primary sources and case studies at the intersection of criminology, anthropology and terrorism studies. A must-read for our research sector!

proudly published videos of tortured terrorists. Why?

It makes their statements absolutely not credible. But it also portrays law enforcement as hard core (although where were they when attack happened 🤦‍♀️) &will further terrify domestic population into obedience.

I sympathize with victims of a terrible attack in but it leads to even more anger with regime.

FSB is too busy arresting peaceful activists to actually do their job. Instead of listening to the West warning accused of sabotaging elections. And…

One of the alleged terrorists in during interrogation published by says that he got $2500 before the operation &was getting $2500 after.

It does not make sense… folks do not expect to get out of such operation alive. They simply expect to die there.

Why did Isis strike Moscow? “It’s about the convenience of the target,” says ⁦Vera Mironova

Russia’s security system has been hollowed out, the FSB chases anti-war protesters instead of terror threats, and on Friday, Isis’s Afghan branch attacked. on.ft.com/4cq7lSR
