First power play of the game goes to the #NYR after a holding call on Mike Reilly.

Igor was point-blank glove save on Casey Cizikas to keep this one scoreless early.

#NYR came out flying, but #Isles have taken control in the last few minutes. SOG are now 7-7.

Not a great shift for the Miller-Schneider advocates. Schneider coughed up a puck at the offensive blue line, then whiffed on a hit in the D zone that led to the #Isles best scoring chance so far.

Meanwhile, the Zibanejad line is buzzing early.

Strong move from Mika Zibanejad on his first shift to attack the middle of the ice and get a quality shot off on Sorokin. Stephen Valiquette was talking on the podcast about him needing to get to the high-danger areas more. There's a good example of him doing it.

FWIW- Miller and Schneider are the starting D pair, going against the #Isles second line.

If anything is going to trip these #NYR up in the playoffs, it’s not going to be a 6D or 12F decision. It’s struggling to generate 5v5 offense outside of the Panarin line and defend against the rush.
