What I find to be so devastating about videos like this is not just the horror of playtime being interrupted by bombs, leaving some of the children frantic and the young boy too stunned to move. What stands out to me is the casual exchange that happens in the background. /1

I will never forget my Vietnamese A Level Chemistry teacher telling me about the horror of White Phosphorus.

It burns the oxygen meaning victims inhale phosphorus instead of oxygen which burns them from the inside out and then it melts skin, muscle and bone.

Last week, we celebrated World HijabDay at work with the students.
I faced islamaphobia at school where other children would pull my hijab down, call me names and tell me to go back to where I came from (I was born here). It all. made me feel like I didn’t belong.
