Great to be at Heriot-Watt today with the #RestorationForth team stringing #European Flat oysters to be deployed to the #Forth tomorrow. Great to meet new faces, and with such a positive aim in mind.. to help reverse nature and biodiversity decline where we can. #ostreaedulis
👏🏻Brilliantly argued by Chris Stark at Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee (expanding on & emphasising some of what he said to Laura Kuenssberg recently), about the wide-ranging, multiple benefits of progressing & achieving #NetZero , being collaborative, & getting our discourse into a more positive space.💯
Yesterday, Ben Macpherson MSP asked Chris Stark how he thought we could all get our collective political discourse in a better place, when it comes to achieving net zero 👇

After #decades of beach litter surveying by 1000s of our dedicated Marine Conservation Society volunteers recording wet wipes spoiling our beaches, delighted with plans to ban plastic-containing wipes across the UK (with medical exemptions).
Thank you #oceanheroes all 🌊🌍

This really is good news, but why it's taken so long beggars belief. Sewage systems, rivers & seas are in a worse state for this insidious product. Manufacturers should pay to repair the damage. Congrats to all those who have highlighted & fought for this issue, not least Marine Conservation Society
Single use wet wipes containing plastic are to be banned!
Fantastic news for beaches & thanks to our Marine Conservation Society Beachwatch volunteers who have gathered data over decades!
Over 21,000 wet wipes were found on UK beaches in 2023 - now let’s wipe out wet wipes from our beaches!
