Science week we have looked at finger prints, how animals adapt to their environment and also lots of fun experiments. We also used explorative talk during science week to investigate how we can make a farm sustainable.

In our forest school sessions we have been doing plenty of interesting activities. We loved collecting/examining minibeasts in our forest school,created some bird feeders to encourage diversity of species around us. we also made fire and cooked marshmallows on it.What a treat!!

Children in Primary had fabulous time on World Book Day, dressing up and sharing stories.

Year 2 have been using Manipulatives in maths to support their learning of division.  We have also used our oracy skills to talk about how different animals adapt to habitats.

National Story telling week from Y5.
Last week, we read lots of Aesop Fables and stories from other cultures. We looked at stories that had themes linked to honesty for our RE topic.

As part of storytelling week, Year 2 joined author Swapna Haddow to hear a chapter of her new book. Year 2 really enjoyed this and cannot wait to read the whole book soon.

Mrs Powis Jones launched Story Telling Week to Primary pupils by retelling her favourite childhood story 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. The children joined in with all the different actions.

Great to have the theatre back at Washwood! Year 10 enjoying a stage performance of Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ as part of their preparation for GCSE English Literature.

Y6 have been looking at ratio and proportion in maths lessons. As part of this unit they have used geoboards to support them in exploring scale drawings and scale factor.

Reception class have been exploring and learning all about artic animals with some very ineresting conversations taking place.

Today Class 2 walked into class to find it in a mess. The crayons were angry with how we treated them and quit! We are going to learn how to write a persuasive letter to get our crayons back

Year 2 have been looking at different textures and form in art this week. Today we made a rose out of clay. We used different techniques and learnt new vocabulary.

Children from Year 3 were asked to take part in a Volcano project over the Christmas period. Here are some of their creations.

Some Year 5 and 6 Pupils had a great time Birmingham City FC training grounds, taking part in the youth EFL Football Tournament. The children got to meet Nico Gordon and got his autograph.

This week is all about money in Year 2. We have recognised coins, notes and the value of these. We have also been using our knowledge to buy items from the shop.
