I am sure the ANC will also use Mabuza in Mpumalanga to drive turnout. Turnout in Mpumalanga was impressive in 2019, when considering the provinces which border Gauteng.
In 2014, Helen Zille came close to achieving parity for the DA. There was only a 2300 difference between its national ballot total and the provincial ballot combined total.
While J. Zuma won far more votes for the ANC in a national election than both T.Mbeki & C.Ramaphosa, no ANC leader comes close to Ramaphosa & the impressive 645K difference for the ANC on the national ballot when compared to the provincial ballot total. Zuma's 481K in'14 was next
Bar, the 4 parties represented in the North West provincial legislature, only 1 parties got more than 1% in any of the 18 municipalities in NW on the national ballot in 2019. Forum 4 Service Delivery got more than 1% in Ratlou, Taung & Lekwa-Teemane & peaking at 1,52% in Mamusa.

Of the 5 people expelled by MK last night, 3 were in electable positions. Jabulani Khumalo (2), Lebo Moepeng (4), Rochelle Davidson (8). Ray Khumalo was too low on the KZN list to be elected. Bheki Manzini's name was not on any of the lists.
In 2019 only 4 parties got more than 5000 votes in the North West province on the provincial ballot. In Limpopo, only 4 parties got more than 5300 votes on the provincial ballot.

Cederberg Eerste are now the largest party in Cederberg. CE 4 (3) ANC 3 (4) DA 2 FF+ 1 PA 1-Total 11. The governing coalition of CE, DA and FF+ have more buffer now in the Cederberg.
The DA win in Blue Crane Route means that this council is now hung. ANC 5 (6) DA 5 (4) EFF 1-Total 11. The EFF are kingmakers in KwaNojoli (formerly Somerset East). The ANC will be calling the Red Berets today to ensure the ANC remains in government in the Blue Crane Route.
Turnout was higher in 7/11 wards compared to the 2021 local government elections. Voters were enthusiastic yesterday. 5/11 wards changed hands yesterday. It is a great pity we did not have the 3 KZN by-elections to see what would have happened there.
DA win ward off ANC in the Eastern Cape. Ward 4 (Pearston) Blue Crane Route in Sarah Baartman: DA 52% (44%) ANC 47% (54%) EFF 1% (2%). Poll: 65% (59%). DA had big gains in Pearston and Nelsig VDs and were able to overcome the big ANC buffer in Khanyiso to beat the ANC by 98 votes
DA holds W2 (Pretoria North), Tshwane DA 95% (62%) ANC 4% (7%) EFF 1% (3%) OHM <1% (<1%) RCT <1% (<1%): Poll 24% (49%). FF+ (20%) not on ballot. DA dominant in Tshwane. They will be happy with this landslide win. They will also be happy that no votes were lost to small parties.
DA holds Ward 6 (Randfontein Greenhills), Rand West City, West Rand: DA 83% (70%) ANC 14% (11%) EFF 3% (3%). Poll: 21% (41%). FF+ (14%) not on ballot. DA will be satisfied with this hold. ANC will also be content with the slight gains.
ANC win ward off EFF in Polokwane. Ward 10 (Makgofe Blood River) in Polokwane, Capricorn: ANC 53% (42%) EFF 43% (47%) Action SA 2% (10%) EKF 1% MK 1% Operation Dudula <1%. Poll: 49% (44%). EFF had won this ward on 3 consecutive occasions. ANC will be delighted with this win
