One of our country’s foremost housing experts says the federal government’s new housing plan is transformative. But, here in Alberta, our provincial government is working hard to block the feds and make sure Albertans never benefit from the plan. UCP=Worst Government Ever. 🤦‍♂️

I can’t confirm that this is the boldest housing plan in Canadian history, but this is easily the boldest in my lifetime, and I’m pretty old.

More work to do, but this is absolutely transformative stuff.

The feds have:
- Eliminated the GST on apartment construction
- Re-introduced the 10% ACCA on apartment construction
- Prohibited cities with more than 300K persons from raising development charges

Meanwhile, Ontario is giving municipalities more powers to raise dev charges.

They are going to burn it all to the ground.
