The Saturday matinee of the Brotzmann celebration Cafe OTO included what might be the most beautiful piece of the entire event, an aching threnody from Heather Leigh, Joe McPhee, Fred Lonberg-Holm and Camille Emaille, while I loved the piledriving Vandermark/Nilssen-Love duet.

Performing ‘G2,44’ with David Watson, Heather Leigh and Norman Westberg at Dark Mofo in ‘22 was truly life changing. Especially loved seeing folks leaving because it was THAT loud!!!
