Looks like good results for Indy Councillor’s across UK so far too. More voters seem to be moving away from the main parties to candidates they trust to listen & to represent their actual constituents on local issues 🤔

The shorter the life expectancy, the greater the need; the greater the need, the greater the volume of traffic & pollution funnelled onto the roads where they live, walk, wait for buses, shop, work and their children learn & play.

Vicky Foxcroft MP 💙
It needs stressing that PIP is claimed by disabled people who are working too. That it’s about care and mobility needs. Many disabled workers in receipt of pip have said that remove their pip they can’t continue to work

I’m so tired of disabled people being left behind in almost every way. In education, economics, diversity, I could go on. With society uprising, disabled people are the last to be helped or thought of. I can’t tell you how traumatizing it is to be abandoned.

I’m blind & I just had to say my voting choices out loud in the middle of my polling station.

Voting is inaccessible for many blind & visually impaired people.

Blind citizens deserve accessible, private & independent participation in democracy.

Octopus Energy I nominate Hugo Wilson for . He missed out on his music festival birthday celebration because ‘access’ was across a ploughed field, not possible for wheelchair users like me and so we had to leave as soon as we arrived. He deserves another festival.

With all the ongoing misinformation about PIP, here's a thread with the facts.

Disabled people face unavoidable extra costs on average, £975 per month, that's after receiving PIP (if eligible).

PIP is supposed to help offset these extra costs.

Two hours to the deadline. Now you know City of York Council that if I get disenfranchised today because no one has been able to get me a proxy vote in the situation it was designed for - medical emergency- you will be hearing about it for sometime time to come…

If you think claiming PIP is so easy that even those who aren't actually disabled can get it, prove it.
Fill out the application.
Gather the evidence.
Go through the assessments.
Let's see if you can get even the lowest rate.
Go on, I can wait.

This is childhood & education in the UK for disabled children.

Too many have little access to school because those with power care little for their lives.

Whether the blame lies with LAs, MATs, the UK & devolved governments or society, it is WRONG.

Disabled people matter.
