I agree that there is an issue here about what the 'norm' is (it is possible that the norm is not normal).

But, i can't help but chuckle seeing a reference to an average institution, 'universities like Harvard'

The year is 2040. Nobody remembers how to write, you just swipe to express half a thought, and text comes up (that the 'reader ' will get automatically distilled to 3 words). You can see it everywhere except for productivity statistics. Secular stagnation is raging.
