I really hate weighing in on these dogpile journalism Twitter debates but it is fascinating to see one of the most prominent journos in the US defending someone with a documented history of lazy and shallow reporting.

When you find pictures of the ungulate species you have mapped migrations for, you print them, you pin them in order to connect the pictures with the migration locations with a little string .... madness or intrinsic motivation - maybe a bit of both... ?!

It has snowed two of the first three days of May in northwest Wyoming. Grumble grumble, but at least I got this pic of elk being pelted by graupel out of it, featured for WyoFile's photo Friday.

Ornithologists think this is one of the more common messages communicated between birds. For instance to maintain contact with the rest of a flock while foraging or to reassert claim to a territory.
