We should be grateful for stuff like this, as it so clearly underlines that a main function of generative AI, apart from attempting to automate creative labor, is to enable self-promotional grifting

Made the first purchase of 35 Anna and Golden Dorsett apple trees (and 3 pomegranates) last week, and have planted these.

If everything goes well, we need to have a serious fruit orchard at the UCF in the next few years.

If you don’t believe tech billionaires are actively building their own fascist project, just listen to the clip of Balaji talking about the need to cleanse San Francisco of the “Blues” (liberals and leftists).

Let the wolves into the pig-pen! The Homeland Security’s AI safety board is filled with members who hold a stake in AI’s unregulated advancement, and are actively incentivized to work against AI safety solutions. This is corruption.

A 2013 global survey from Win/Gallup asked ~68,000 people in 65 countries about which country they believe poses the greatest threat to world peace. The US was, by far, #1 on the list. Israel was tied with Iran, Afghanistan, and North Korea. 👇

This can look like a cheap shot, but it really isn’t: a movement with actual visibility on the long term would be acutely aware that you have to survive tomorrow.

By genetically reengineering cows -- and maybe humans, too? -- plus some stratospheric geoengineering with sulfate aerosols or giant umbrellas in space, I'm pretty sure we can tackle climate change without having to address the root causes!! Sounds awesome! Cheer up, kids!!

The Future of Humanity Institute was founded on eugenics from the start. Go to Archive.org and look at the original FHI website: it was about studying how best to radically modify humanity (transhumanism). Almost *all* of FHI's work was on 'eugenics.'

Good article in The Observer about the Future of Humanity Institute being shut down by Oxford. The journalist who wrote it asked me for my thoughts, and here's one thing I said that didn't end up in the article:
