If you need some good news today, it's this.

Salaries are increasing, especially for lower-income workers, and disinflation is bringing down the cost of living.

In other words: The people who need it most are making more money and having to spend less of it just to exist.

This package started *way* before I joined Bloomberg, but I got to touch a few pieces, and I'm so proud of it.

One of the most spectacularly talented journalists I've ever encountered. The only reason Tess wasn't poached 1,000 years ago is because she's loyal and dedicated and squarely focused on the journalism at all times. And damn does she do tremendous journalism.

Manisha’s unparalleled reporting, writing, and presence is all too clear from her work (and her Emmy!)

I can add that she made me a better editor and has since become an incredible friend.

I literally cannot think of a newsroom she wouldn’t be an asset to.

Just add me to the long, long list of people who think Tess is brilliant, kind, and fearless.

I’ve had the honor of editing and arguing with her on the reg. She’s an amazing reporter and writer and perhaps an even better human.

Not hiring her would be a big mistake. HUGE.

Tess is an unbelievably good reporter. Trying to keep up with her level of scoops and reportage made me a better reporter. We collaborated on a ton of projects together and it was always such a pleasure.

But more than anything Tess is an unbelievably good colleague and friend.

There are some people I can’t imagine VICE without. Tess is one of them.

If people think Vice mgmt’s incompetence is exaggerated: At one point they were seemingly spending 90% of the snack budget on milk. Every time our union committee met my NY coworkers would talk about how much milk there was. Around this time they just stopped paying for PACER

Far-right and extremists celebrating the decline of VICE is testament only to the work that VICE journalists have been doing for years, long before most outlets paid any attention to this problem

But these celebrations will be short-lived as those journalists will be back soon..
