Paul Cézanne, born today in 1839, is said to have formed the bridge between late 19th-century Impressionism and early 20th century Cubism. Both Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso are said to have remarked that Cézanne 'is the father of us all'.

We’re excited to share that this tender sketch by Rembrandt has found a new home in the Museum 🏛

🍃 In spring, this delicate new addition to the Museum will be displayed alongside other works on paper by the Dutch master.

🎻 Intricately carved with fine detail, this instrument was originally made as a citole, the ancestor of the modern guitar 🎸
