Queen St Bridge and the new temporary diversion road will close to all users from 8pm today until 6am Monday 29 April.

We’re expecting the inner ring road to be very busy so, if possible, please consider leaving the car at home and using other ways to travel during the closures.

A section of the City Walls walkway, between Station Rise and Micklegate Bar, will be closed Friday 26 April - Monday 29 April to allow for safe completion of works on Queen St Bridge.

Access gates will be locked, with signs in place.

Update - Our collision investigation work has concluded at the scene.

We are now working with @highwaysyorks to clear the significant amount of debris and oil.

We're hoping that the southbound carriageway will be open for this evening's rush hour.

An appeal will follow.

Due to buses running late all morning and drivers now needing breaks, we are needing to cancel a journey and chosen the one that affects the least amount of people.

Due to the A1(M) closure, there is a significant increase in traffic volumes on surrounding roads including A19, A168 and A64. Please give yourself extra time. If you need to re-programme satnavs or use your mobile phone, DO NOT do this whilst driving. Pull over & do this safely.

UPDATE - The #A1M in #NorthYorkshire between J47 #York and J48 #Minskip is now OPEN northbound while the southbound carriageway remains CLOSED for North Yorkshire Police to complete investigations at the scene.
