Worth going further: what’s wrong with this, is that “public” allows people to smuggle unspoken and undefended value claims into their work - thus “public intellectual” carries assumptions that the speaker needn’t name.

A city can be the best version of 'You're not in traffic, you are traffic'.

If you live in a city, you are the city. Stop trying to get it delivered in a little package. Respect the other residents. And if you are lucky enough to have enough, be kind to those who don't.

'The molecular flux of lived identity is not simply made mathematically tractable by AI but essentialised into a machinic identitarianism that prepares the way for eugenic logics of eliminationism, filtered through systems of ranking and optimisation.'

I once filed a security/compliance request to install a (horrors) open source tool before leaving for Memorial Day holiday, and it was US Thanksgiving before I got the approval to install it, long after everyone had given up hope and stopped caring.

Two of these are for my research on homelessness, one because I’ve been burnt out before and the branding book looked interesting.

I have been puzzled and fascinated by the gig economy and the B2B phenomena (AirBnB, ridesharing).

Thanks to all respondents to my query. I got these four, to start wrapping my head around these.

lol it's not lost on me that more arrests are being made at these college campuses than on January 6th. 🤷🏿‍♀️

Right now: Cops surrounding protesters who stayed overnight at UNC’s Gaza Solidarity Encampment.

Smaller protests carry the same risks without the strength in numbers seen at larger gatherings - please boost and support these brave students

The student encampments are glimmers of the Third University. We are seeing, as la paperson says, that it is possible. And we are seeing which powers will use violence to prevent it from forming. blackfeministpedagogies.com/uploads/2/5/5/…

Stop thinking of workouts, good diet, etc as “productivity” tools. Stop thinking of yourself as a f*ckin machine

You’re art. Your life is your masterpiece you get to paint. The things you do to take care of yourself are your design tools to craft something (your life) you

Not me crying watching the Black students at Stanford provide free breakfast for everyone at the Palestine encampment. 😭😭😭

What a way to do the work and honor the Black Panther Party.

Did a teach-in USC encampment today—one of my best teaching experiences ever.

We talked abt power of communication, meanings of “public”, challenging institution control of language & borders, & more.

Students were so lovely, caring, smart.

Visit a protest, support students!
