Today marks the anniversary of the day in 1945 when the UN Charter entered into force. UN Day, celebrated every year, offers the opportunity to amplify our common agenda and reaffirm the purposes and principles of the UN Charter that have guided us.

Week Without Violence #WWV22 is part of a global movement with all YWCAs across the country and around the world to end violence against women and girls.

YWCA’s 2022 Week Without Violence campaign: Centering Survivors, focuses on how today’s most divisive issues and headlines impact victims and survivors of gender-based violence.

Today concludes Hispanic Heritage Month; throughout the month, we have shared bits of the Hispanic culture, and we embrace the diversity that the culture brings to the history of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Latin Art Culture consists of street art, murals, architecture, music, food, and much more. On any street corner, freeway, or building in Los Angeles, there are representations of the diversity of Hispanic cultures that reside in Los Angeles.

Today we introduce you to L.A.’s only all-female Mariachi Band, the Mariachi Lindas Mexicanas. In this dominant male profession, leader Maricela Martinez created her group and used social media for marketing and branding her band.

The Hispanic culture is known throughout Los Angeles as having some of the best tacos and Hispanic foods. Ask any Angelino and they will share their favorite late night taco truck.

You will find the Hispanic culture up and down California. Take a drive down to San Diego to visit their historic Old Town. Immerse yourself in the Mexican culture, food, and education that Old Town San Diego offers.

Today is World Mental Health Day. Take time to prioritize your mental health. We want to make sure that you prioritize yourself and eliminate the stigma that comes with mental health. Let us normalize that our mental health is part of our overall health and wellness.

The Concheros dance, also known as the dance of the Chichimecas, Aztecas, and Mexicans, is an essential traditional dance and ceremony which has been performed in Mexico since the colonial period. The dancers wear regalia, feature indigenous dance steps, and perform with drums.
