This picture has been sticking in my brain. This is a good exemplar of why LLMs as computing platforms don't make sense to me. They learn the input distribution biases and all, and not necessarily any underlying structure or meaning. It's the hallucination problem in another form

The weirdest part about tech now: previously when you asked the following questions, you had to invent magical/fake foundational tech...
- How will AIs think for themselves?
- How will humans become cyborgs?

But we now have answers. The tech tree has unlocked.

Prediction: Within ~5 years, the most extreme folks will already be calling for a ban on human drivers due to safety concerns.

By this time, it will be clear to most people that AI drivers are indeed safer, but humans will probably believe driving is a ~right for a while.
