LA County welcomes the Gov’s plan to allow AZ abortion providers to offer this critical care in CA, as more of our neighbors travel here seeking protection as they receive services.

The County’s Recommended Budget also includes $3.8 million to expand EV charging stations at County facilities for the public, a move that will significantly improve access to renters & community members who don’t have access to at-home charging or want to transition to an EV.

There are currently ~30K public EV chargers in LA County, short of our goal of 60K chargers by 2025. The plan aims to resolve these challenges by increasing deployment of public chargers, updating permitting to prioritize EV adoption, & promoting transitions to green jobs.

Today, the Board unanimously adopted LA County’s first ZEV master plan that I introduced w/ @hollyjmitchell. The plan will bring us closer to:

1️⃣Expanded electric vehicle charger infrastructure 
2️⃣Enhanced charger reliability
3️⃣A fully zero-emissions fleet by 2035

Our justice system worked exactly as it’s supposed to in response to the horrendous sexual assaults in Venice.

This weekend, I joined a beach cleanup in Santa Monica with Heal the Bay and biked along a car-free Venice Blvd during this year's CicLAvia! Thank you to everyone who joined us to imagine and create a more sustainable future for the generations to come.

My usual TV beat is food, but I'm also a current Columbia University student, and I'm so sad & so frustrated with the way student protests on our campus are being reported. This will be imperfect, but I can't watch things that are so contrary to what I've actually seen and stay silent. 🧵

In Topanga this morning with Caltrans HQ & Jacqui Irwin. Our team is working closely with state partners to expedite the reopening of Topanga Canyon Blvd as soon as safely possible.

We will be checking in weekly to stay updated on progress.

I am running for an election in Oakland and out of 12+ candidates I am the only person of color.

That is how exclusionary Rockridge has been to people like me. Time to shake this area up a bit.

It makes me wonder how the fallout from USC’s decision will impact its valedictorian selection later on. I’ve personally seen cases where because of these types of incidents, Muslim & Arab candidates are passed over in future years because “they’re not worth the trouble.”

LA County’s largest sources of emissions are from buildings & transportation.

This week, we passed a Climate Action Plan to reduce emissions from both. Our goals include:

⚡️zero carbon buildings by 2045
🚊housing & jobs near transit
💧locally source 80% of water by 2045
