After 20 hours of intense rescue operation involving improvised techniques, NDRF, SDRF & Civil Adm teams successfully rescued a 2 year old child who had fallen into an open borewell at Lachyana village of Indi taluk of Vijayapura district, Karnataka.

Shri Atul Karwal joined the NDRF as Director General on 15th November, 2021 and lead the Force with great honour & distinction.

Shri Atul Karwal, IPS officer of 1988 batch retired today after a sterling 36 years of service in Gujarat Police, CRPF, SVP-NPA, and NDRF.
He is an ultra-marathoner and a Triathlete, Black Belt in Martial Arts, is trained in Scuba Diving and Sky Diving and scaled Mount Everest.
