We are the voluntary organisation supporting local people wanting 20mph or 30km/h as a default urban/village speed limit, with higher limits set by exception.

To encourage more walking, wheeling and cycling, the speed limit on almost 4,000 Glasgow streets is set to be lowered to 20mph.

These proposed changes support national strategy to roll out this safer speed limit in built up areas across Scotland.

I don't understand the logic whereby people support 20mph on residential roads to reduce pedestrian deaths but not on arterial or main roads where most pedestrian deaths happen. Is someone's life suddenly cheaper on a busier road? What does that tell us about our values?

The anti-20 petition in Wales is so full of misinformation that it is difficult to see how any Member of Senedd could take it seriously. Limits are not set by popularity polls or click n' share petitions but science and evidence. See our critique at 20splenty.org/w_faq08

Listening is good, but when it's a choice between listening to whiners and paying attention to the overwhelming evidence that 20mph saves lives, maybe do the evidence-based thing instead?

The introduction of reduced speed limits in our communities across the Scottish Borders will help reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on Scotland’s roads. Slower is safer. Find out more about the introduction 20mph speed limits by visiting roadsafety.scot

Advocate for Mobility - Concerned Oxford Residents Opposing 20mph in villages simply brings the opinion of the Police into disrepute.

There is wide force-by-force variation on this and other road crime matters. Maybe it’s time we got a bit of national Policy.

We need the Police fully backing areas of public concern on speed.

The roll out of 20mph speed limits is something Andrew Gant should rightly be proud of. 20mph speed allow much more effective road calming interventions.

TVP Roads Policing should now work to provide cheap average speed camera grids e.g. AutoSpeedWatch

Make no mistake. In Wales the Conservatives both led and facilitated Wales setting 20mph as the national urban/village speed limit, aided by the Westminster government. They are only now opposing for political opportunism. See 20splenty.org/2023_quiz

Our built-environment is being determined by driver needs rather than people needs, and by child needs even less. At what level does pandering to adults in cars at the expense of child mental and physical health get classed as 'institutional abuse'?

Children walking to school is a key indicator of mobility equality in the public spaces between buildings we call streets. And it's so much better for 500,000 children in Wales with a default 20mph urban/ village speed limit. to make places better places to be.

Some people in Wales have been asking why the money for 20mph limits couldn't have bought extra teachers or nurses. Well we did the maths and it's not many. Either:
1 extra teacher per 20,000 pupils or
1 extra nurse per 4 hospitals.
