Debbie Massey I personally think the word vocation & nurse should be banned from existing in the same sentence or paragraph. Vocational / calling nomenclature has probably done more to suppress nurse wages & professional value then anything else since the Dawn of time.

The need for clinical supervision to become mandatory within the NHS is fundamental to staff wellbeing and staff retention. It is a very small investment in staff to help them feel valued and develop. CS can help to prevent stress and reduce sickness.
The problems:
1. Blame culture
2. System needs over-ride staff well-being
3. Unintended personal costs of upholding values at work
4. Interventions don’t recognise cumulative chronic stressors
