Successful day for 78 Squadron at Swanwick personnel yesterday, taking home 2nd place at the RAF Powerliftering Championships 2024, with multiple new personal bests 💪🏼

Exercise Vixen Eagle is a cross country skiing exercise which takes place in Bavaria, Germany. Designed to develop leadership, resilience and Nordic skiing.

The visit was to gain an insight on Swanwick Operations, how we operate with civil, airspace management and training along with the Resilience Entity and how it fits in to UK Air Defence

78 Squadron at Swanwick personnel taking home 1st and 2nd place in the RAF’s Ladies Lift Off 2024. Pb’s hit in all lifts and ready to take part in RAF Champs in April 💪🏼🏆

Personnel at 78 Squadron at Swanwick helped coordinate multiple routes along side JACIG to develop training missions to enable agencies for Open Skies operations.

The Sqn also controlled the Romanian An-30 aircraft coordinating with relevant sectors at NATS.

Abbey’s Heroes work with the Piam Brown Ward and Teenage and Young Adult Unit at Southampton General Hospital, who support children and young adults diagnosed with cancer, and their families, from across the South Coast.

Recently 78 Sqn personnel took part in Movemeber 1 Metre for every Man Swim Challenge, smashing 45,071m in 24 swims! 🏊‍♂️

A total of £665 was raised for the charity!

Over the first 12 days of December, members of 78 Sqn have delivered hampers to local veterans as part of “78 Sqn’s 12 days of Christmas” 🎄

In addition, Battlespace Management Engineering Wing has now become as 144 Signals Unit.

What a way to kick start the month of December 🎅🏼

OC 78 Squadron at Swanwick commencing ‘78 Sqn’s 12 Days of Christmas’ by delivering the first hamper to a local veteran!

Thanks to Fg Off Griffin, RAF Benevolent Fund and RAF Association for making this possible 🎄🎁

78 Squadron at Swanwick personnel have volunteered their time to this years Poppy Appeal for multiple collecting sessions at Sainsbury’s Farlington and Tesco North Harbour, covering weekends since 28 Oct 23.

Total funds raised are close to £18,000!

78 Sqn remembers.
Staff and Execs were involved across the local area to remember the fallen. Laying wreaths with NATS to remember those who have died and served.

Today our military colleagues, 78 Squadron at Swanwick, held a Service of Remembrance to honour all those who have died and served, ahead of Armistice Day & Remembrance Sunday over the weekend.
